Solution 2 Select “ CTRL ” key using your desktop keyboard while opening Outlook 2016. Select “File” “Manage Add-Ins“. Now disable all types of “ Add-ins ” which are active by default. You can also do it by going through File Options. Restart Outlook again and check to see, if it’s not.

Hi Guys,

I have a staff member who's Outlook crashes immediately when trying to open, it's a strange one. No error message appears even, just the spinning ball, the when I click on the icon, it shows as 'not responding'

I've done the usuals, completely uninstalled office, re-installed from fresh, cleared all preferences whilst uninstalling so everything would be fresh for the new install.

Other apps do seem to be ok, Word can crash a bit also but can load up most times. This is a brand new Macbook Pro (El Capitan) also so shouldn't have any CPU load issues.

I had a look at the Mac Console to check for error logs, some of the keywords in the log I seen when trying to open the app;

PM WindowsServer: allocate_backing_surface

disable_update_unlikely_unbalanced

disable_update_timeout

11 ??? [0x9359423b]

11 ??? (Microsoft Outlook + 25066) [0x5b1ea]

If anyone can offer any help or advice, it'd be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
